A lot of parties like this are linked to bigger or season events - for example it could be during Pride season and someone works with a sponsor brand to host a pool party at a rich guys house they know. There are also a fair amount of big parties that are more organic, or at least they just occur due to a handful of popular gays alerting all their buddies. Usually there's a FB event created it for it, so anyone in the social circle can join.

I know a lot of you have this desire to pull back the curtain on secret LA sex parties and hear tea like "omg 300 men were there with their dicks out all circling Chris Evans who made them sign an NDA!" It's not that crazy. I'll put it to you this way: parties like the ones above are setup as legitimate pool parties, it's not billed as a sex party. Guys know that some shenanigans will take place no doubt, but it's not a Roman orgy. 90% of guys in LA don't want the reputation of being "guys who go to sex parties". So they attend places like this and know it can easily happen if they want, but usually they just swap Instas and fuck on their own accord later.

And as far as the houses themselves, old rich gays in Beverly Hills are not hard to find. All it takes is one twink to ask "can I invite a bunch of other fags to come frolic around in speedos while you jerk off from the balcony".

As far as those secret sex parties you all care about so much- the way it happens is this: all of the hot LA insta gays meet each other out and about at places like this, and one-on-one will hookup and naturally build a "fuck buddy" type relationship. Fuck buddy is even too strong of a word, "friends who are cool, we hang out, yeah they're cool... we play around sometimes" is more accurate.

So it'll come up naturally between Chad and Braden "hey I know this guy looking to play this weekend, if you're up for it" and that's how 3 ways happen. Now imagine it just growing from there. "Hey I know a guy hosting a "brunch" with a few people.. you know Jaden and Kayden who are going, they're bringing some friends too". And that's how you get a few dozen homos at a party, where it's not overtly sexual but the common factor among them is "guys I have fucked or would fuck". This way, they still reserve their image of not being an "orgy attendee" but can still suck a bunch of random cock at a pool party.

Well LA doesn't have public venues like in Berlin or other European cities where full on sex can occur. Even in New York, big warehouse parties known for sex are billed as "raves" and still rely on all the tourism and visitors; LA doesn't have as many guys traveling in/out regularly to have a consistent place like that.

Again, the biggest factor is that the LA gay scene is still a scene, and guys don't want reputations as sluts. The big parties in Europe are probably 75% tourists.

And regarding Cumunion, there are a few nights like that, but attendance is not usually jam-packed, and the crowd will skew 40s and older. Not to play the age card, but younger guys who want group action can get it as I described above, the crowd that goes to Cumunion is less image-obsessed, and less picky about partners - therefore not a "hot" crowd like some may fantasize about. Not to imply you have to be under 40 to be hot, but you know what I mean.

People are cool at those parties if you get an invitation.

Truth be told, it’s pretty hard for POC to get invited. I’m not saying any of these pool parties is exclusive. A few of them are but they’re for those follower count 50k and above thots who pretend to be famous. Even if you’re white, you probably would need to know someone to get in.

Pool parties are nothing special really. The weather in LA makes it more prevalent. The only interesting I would say is the location. Usually it’s at some old rich guy’s house and you get the sense that the host might want some reciprocation when you go.

Honesty, as a black gay man I can say that white guys are idolized almost everywhere in the world, so I get the draw. I had to learn to love myself and find a group of gay friends, of various races, to really get to know and love myself better. No matter your color, there is a scale to hotness. A hot black, asian, or hispanic guy with 6-pack abs 5'9 or above and some whit can find a place in these groups. Hottness is one of the key factors. We all know it when we see it. White boys are graded on a curve, but there are so many cute boy next door types with abs and models in LA that even then people may feel like they don't measure up.

Some people may see these hot boys and call it racially exclusive. I think it's more complicated and less intentional. White men are the top of the gay food chain. Boys from around the world come to LA all every day. Once in WeHo, it's a battle to stay relevent and fit in. You need a look and certain group of friends to enhance your image. Every hot white guy helps. As people strive to fit in they look for the best looking social circle. This in-turn may leave people of color out. I don't believe most of these guys are intentionally saying, "no blacks". It's more of go with the flow group that happen to invite few if any people of color.

I think people shouldn't always take things personally. Like another poster said, getting an invite at all can be challenging, especially if you are hit in the face or average.

It's best to just find your group. Be honest with your genetics. Be confident in what you've got. Eat right and workout, and make your own pool parties and go from there.

In this age of social media, way too many people (specifically self-conscious and self-aware gay men, clamoring to remain relevant in the social strata) rely on social networking connections to build their friendships. In lieu of the old fashioned ways of getting to know people, and building friendships. So all these white gays thirst-follow other white gays and BOOM somehow they're all besties now.

"Wanting to fuck" is commonly the first benchmark we face, when connecting with strangers over social media, and it's created this weird phenomenon where, as the other poster said above, it might not be intentionally anti-black, but it is heavily favored toward what white gays find attractive, which often is white European features (the whole "beauty standards" rant can be saved for another day).

It's not a stretch to see that popular insta-gays have these predominantly white networks of "friends" based initially on "oh hey they're hot, I wanna fuck them but we'll prob just end up brunch buddies who run into each other at Coachella and that's fine too".

These parties are mainly for rich old men to enjoy the company of hot guys. Who are the hottest guys? Well, anyone can be. But white features are praised so white guys fit the bill.

This isn't easy for them. Yes, you need to be handsome (thanks mom and dad), but they also have nice bodies that require real work in the gym and resistance to a crapy diet (especially the bottoms, lol). You also need to stay trendy with clothes and pop culture for conversation. There is always someone younger and hotter so you may never feel like a million ducks even though by any other measure most of these guys are hot as fire. The guys might act like catty high school girls. While you may hookup with someone and it's no big deal, drama can ensure by a jilted john or ex-fuck buddy. You're always surrounded by unnecessary drama because the culture is like a Real Housewives episode, minus the TV crew and large paychecks. The drama and fake tears (yes there are tears) gets old.

This brings me back to HS when popular people would say how exhausting it can be to maintain their status. Meanwhile, everyone else looks at them with envy and disdain thinking that popularity is easy, but there is a ton of peer pressure involved. Insta-gays turned that high school social hierarchy into a lifestyle to make up for our childhoods. Including exclusive parties for the "cool kids".

Enjoy their nudes, enjoy the tea, try to get into the scene if that's your goal, but know that the grass isn't always greener. And for goodness sake, spend time having fun rather than worrying about the lifestyles of men like these.

While you people are obsessed with WEHO culture and white v. POC integration, those of us who are discreet/not-out are concerned about the continued reduction in ways to meet guys discreetly (e.g. the destruction of Craigslist personal ads), the domination of Grindr and the whole "NPNC" culture and the viciousness of "out" guys when they see you in public and openly tell their friends about your encounter.

Non-white features are not valued as highly as white features, due to the prevalence of white people in the media and generations upon generations of white people being celebrated for their beauty while POC take a back seat.

MANY people subconsciously are attracted to white features because they grow up being told that's what is the ideal. If you're at a club and look around and see 5 white guys standing together, 5 black guys together, and 5 asian guys togethers, most of the time people will gravitate toward the white guys because they know that being around them brings a bigger sense of success and validation, because they are seen as such. There are tons of subconscious factors at play, it's not a literal "I like them better because they are white"

And that's the problem with using social media to "make friends". You are basing it solely on looks and what you assume someone's social worth to be, based on their appearance. Versus making friends at work, school, social gatherings etc. where someone's ideas and personality are valued more.
