He doesn't even have dad bod, though, and he isn't fat. He obviously has a very healthy body fat percentage. To have abs, you have to have a low body fat percentage - typically under 10%. He looks about 15% here. Guys who are bulking (i.e., intentionally consuming more calories to put on more muscle) regularly exceed that. Anything under 20% is going to be pretty healthy for a dude. The average is 18-24%. Under 18% is a very healthy place to be. 12-15% usually means eating fairly healthy and working out, and keeping it under 10% typically means extreme commitment.

In short, he's fine. He looks healthy and fit, not unhealthy and/or fat.
