Firstly I don't encourage racism.. but if someone is racist they are allowed to be, as long as they don't instigate violence or hate speech attacks then let them rant about the race they hate. Secondly let's get one thing straight. Racism is split into many categories. The racism that is a problem is the extreme. What's extreme ? Glad you asked. I quite enjoy the UN's definition of "racism"

Now I know that may be difficult for some of you to understand so I'll sum it up as basically being - one race benefiting from the oppression of the other/s -

Everyone loves examples. A company only hiring white/asian/black etc and none of any other race purely based on race. Forcing other races to use different facilities, giving opportunities to only one race etc.

So with regards to Hank, I don't know him but I'll speculate. Let's say he won't date or be friends with black people. Sure it falls under racism. If he owns a company, but employs any race including blacks sure it doesn't cancel anything out but he isn't EXCLUDING them from benefiting. If he doesn't instigate hate speech or violence, doesn't beat up blacks etc then I see absolutely no problem.

Lastly, why don't I see it as a problem? Most people who complain about racism, complain because they feel like everyone needs to be accepted by everyone else. Not because oh in (insert country name here) this company (insert name here) wont hire (insert race here) because (insert racial reason here).

America is a fantastic example at the moment of racism that is BAD. Cops are more likely to profile someone based on race. This is a major issue and the source of this racism is based on statistics on black crime. Why do blacks commit a lot of crime... because they were oppressed and weren't given the same opportunity in the past when slavery and racial segregation were the norm. UNTIL everyone in America is more or less equal, poverty will exist predominantly in races that were oppressed. This causes these racial groups to be more susceptible to crime which of course leads cops to be racist. However, this is not an excuse, just an explanation of where this fear comes from.

Final closing, I think it's stupid ? Yes!! Annually more people die from diseases, poverty, lack of adequate healthcare, war, religion (Look at terror attacks), I could go on and on, yet people will sit on a blog and complain about a guy that doesn't want to be friends with or date blacks.. give me a break.

PS.

I am white, in Africa, attend a university where majority of students are black and I have absolutely no problem with it. Having racial discussions with fellow students opened me up to a world where they don't really care that some whites and other races don't like them as friends/potential dates, because the rest of other whites and every other race doesn't exclude them from social circles. What they do hate, is when they find companies who only employ white staff because 'blacks are lazy' , or any other VALID racist reason that prevents them from having the same opportunity.

If a white and a black student both pass the same course.. the white with 80% average and the black with 50% average and a company hires the white (after testing their ability to do the given job) I don't blame them. BUT if a white passes with 50% and the black with 80% but the company still employs the white... then we have a problem
