LSP SVU Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and on February 18, 2016 executed the arrest warrant. Michael J. Santos AKA Michael Troy was charged with L.R.S 15:542 Registration of Sex Offenders and L.R.S 15:542.1.3 Procedures for offenders convicted or adjudicated under the laws of another state.

From looking at the Court records, it appears that this happened when he was 18. He was sentenced to a maximum of 90 days in jail but looks like he served 2 days maybe. He received 4 years of probation and community service. It looks like after he finished his probation, he petitioned the Court to remove the requirement that he register as a sex offender. The Court granted his motion. He is not listed as a sex offender.

The Louisiana articles appear to be very misleading. They don't mention that the activity happened almost 14 years ago. Louisiana may have laws that require Michael to register as a sex offender there even if he is not required to register in Florida. However, the articles leave you with the impression that a sex crime happened recently between a 30-something and a 14 year old girl.

Now he's buff and deformed, but I get hard imagining a 18yo Michael Fitt abusing me, he was so fitt and toned and hot, I would let him rape me anytime as many times and ways as he want.

12-15? Well how old was this one girl? I'm not defending him, but if it's true he was 18 and she was 15, that's not so bad in my opinion. That's like him being a senior in HS and her being a freshman/sophomore in HS. That's SO typical to see in HS.

But anything younger is kind of a reach to justify. Didn't read the full thing though, I could be wrong.

The Florida statutes criminalize ANY sexual activity with a person younger than 16. The statute used in this case applies to consensual sexual activity with a person either 14 or 15 with the parties having less than 4 years difference in age. The jail time under this statute is pretty harsh unless specific circumstances exist. The fact that the punishment was very light seems to indicate that the judge in the case found that consensual sexual activity did occur but didn't find that it was especially "criminal."

I am not at all soft on punishment of sexual crimes, but we need distinguish behavior that truly makes someone a sex offender. Whenever the term "sex offender" is used, we all immediately think of some 50 year old guy looking around for children. When a 17 year old guy texts a dick pic to a 16 year old girl, they both can most likely still be charged with child pornography crimes under most state laws and labeled as "sex offenders."
